A Poor Diet Does Not give you Acne
just a little thing that as an acne sufferer kind of annoys me at times. People saying that you should not eat chocolate or junk food as it will make you break out in spots. I have suffered with acne for years and I am convinced there is not real link between the two. I have tried the healthy diets, I have avoided sweets and dairy products and you know what I always got the same acne in the exact same places as before it never made one bit of difference. And it is not just your average Joe saying this, it is people in the medical field to, my mother brought me to some local GP in my teens because my acne got so out of control and all I wanted was a tablet or something to cure it. But he told me that I was eating too many sweets and junk food and this is why many teens had acne. What a load of nonsense!
If someone can show me an absolute link between acne and a poor diet then please shows me as I think it is total nonsense I have never seen proof only people talking rubbish. Ok we know that eating sugary foods make your insulin levels go up and this can have an effect on your hormones and yes I believe that your hormones do play a part in your acne, but again where is the evidence? It like the old dirt gives you acne. Again more nonsense if that were the case then guys working on building sites would be covered with it.
This is not to say that if you eat junk food and stuff your face with sweets that your skin will not look bad, yes it may look bad but it will not make you breakout into spots. At 13 years of age I was forced to give up sweets and crisps, chocolate, pizza, McDonald's everything. Ok you may say look all that stuff is bad for you. But at 13 years of age I was slim healthy played sport. Do not let a doctor tell you that you need to give up sweets of that you cannot have a pizza on a Friday night as it will make you breakout. Live your life try other acne treatment as there is good ones out there that will help you. Forget about the nonsense about getting acne from eating junk as it will not happen. I am in my late 20’s and it has never changed my acne one bit.
Any hope you enjoyed my first post of rant LOL, it may be a rant but it is true food will not affect your acne. If you want to talk about junk food and obese kids then that is another subject. But a lot of people like to treat themselves once in a while and if you have acne do not let that stop you. I will be updating this blog as soon as I can. I have some natural treatments that I use that have helped me over the years and I have used some of the supposed best acne treatments out there that I will be discussing as well. and I hope you people can join in and leave some comments which I will try to reply to if I can.

Another treatment for scarring is laser treatment, this works by using small laser to burn the infected pores on your skin. This should sore but in reality it is quite painless and it is very effective. The reason laser works so well on your acne is that it destroys the acne bacteria that breed in your pores to form acne. So it actually clears your acne and kills of the new forming acne and clears the scarring on your skin. One thing about both of these treatments is that they are expensive; laser can get very expensive if you have a lot of scarring on your body as it will take many treatments to clear your skin. Although expensive it if you have the money laser is the most effective way of clearing up acne scarring on the face and body.

Acne Treatments

When talking about acne medications we will usually be dealing with prescriptions medications and topical treatments. Acne medications usually work by trying to control inflammation and breakouts. Other treatments try to combat acne bacteria that form in the pores of your skin.
Topical Treatments
One of the most popular and most powerful treatments is benzoyl peroxide; this is used in many acne treatments solutions. Almost all of the popular brands use it. Benzoyl peroxide does come with side effects and it does not agree with everything it is a hard acting acne treatment it works fast. But it can leave your skin feeling like it is on fire. If you want rid of acne fast then you must give it a try.
Two of the most popular acne treatments that use benzoyl peroxide are Exposed and Zenmed. Both good products that work by attacking the acne bacteria in your pores before they can reproduce and form as acne.
Topical Antibiotics
Enthromycin, clindamycin and tetracycline are three of the most popular prescription antibiotics used to treat acne on the market today. Although these are antibiotics they do not reduce sebum production. They work by also killing of the acne bacteria that forms in your pores. So they problem with using this type of treatment is that you once you stop using it your acne will then reappear. And after a while the effects start to wear off anyone. So this would be one treatment that you should possibly stay away from.
Retinoids come in both oral and topical form and are decent for trying to clear acne. It is similar to isotretinoin and helps to rebuild new skin cells. This in turn helps to keep your pores from becoming blocked up. They do come with side effects like inflammation and causing the skin to be very itichy.
Oral retinoids are more or less the same as topical. Although they are not as harsh on the skin. To get the best results from using them you will need to use them for at least 6-7 months. They do come with some side effects like can be extreme. Some of these are damage to unborn babies and liver damage. This is why these drugs can be very risky to use if you are pregnant. For that case any acne medication or treatment can be problematic from pregnant women and it is something you really should talk to your doctor about.
These are just a few ways of treating acne. And they are not always the best for everyone. Over the next few weeks I am going to talk about using more natural treatments for treating acne and always they can take longer to see results. There are no long term side effects with most natural treatments. Once treatments that has come to light recently is using green tea to reduce sebum production. There are tests done recently that has shown people to cut down there sebum productions by large amounts. So this is something that is very interesting indeed and I will be discussing it more once I have researched it properly.

Chemical Peels

Not many people understand how chemical peels work or what they actually do; one thing I know for certain is that they are very effective at helping clear acne. Basically a chemical peel is a chemical solution that is applied to the skin, it helps to improve the quality and texture of your skin by removing the damaged top layer of your skin and in doing so it helps your skin to repair and new and improved skin to grow. The problem with the word chemical is that people think that it is something they should never put on their skin; well it is not something you should be worried about. It is called a chemical peel so that people can know the different between it and a physical peel which using abrasive action to remove the skin from your body. Dermabrasion, microdermabrasion and scrubs are type of physical peels.
Chemical peel can be divided into three areas;
Light Chemical Peels
Light chemical peels are also known as superficial chemical peels or chemical exfoliation they uses alphahydroxy acids like lactic acid which can be found in sour milk and glycolic acid which comes from sugar cane and betahydroxy acids in the form of citric acid from citrus fruits and salicylic acid which comes from willow bark. They are goof for removing dead skin, which will clog up your skin pores and it also helps to clear dark coloured spots and help with the signs of aging.
Medium Chemical Peels
These are made up from Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) and Jessner’s solution, which is a mixture of salicylic and lactic acids. Medium chemical peels do not actually from the skin from your body like light chemical peels. They actually damage your skin which forces the skin to try and repair itself. This brings about new growth of collagen and elastin which helps to improve the appearance of the skin and of aging skin. These uses take a few weeks until your skin has fully recovered.
Deep chemical Peels
They are not actually peels in the sense but more of a surgery. They go deep into your skin to the furthest layer of your dermis and again force the skin to repair itself. The results can be very good leaving your skin looking younger brighter and all done with no scars left over. To have this procedure done you will need to go under general anaesthesia as the procedure would be very painful otherwise. Recovery time for deep chemical peels can be a while and there are some bad side effects like the melanocytes in your skin become damaged and as a result your skin is no longer able to tan or actually protect itself from the sun. If you are going to try a deep chemical peel make sure you know you are doing it, try and get as much feedback as possible about the doctor that is going to carry out the procedure.
